New 2024 Chevy Captiva Review, Release Date, Changes – The New 2024 Chevy Captiva was in production for full 12 years until it was discontinued recently. Originally introduced in 2006, this crossover was one of the last vehicles that came out from GM’s Korean department and that was designed by Daewoo. However, the company has dropped this model in favor of a new, far more modern Equinox. The Captiva nameplate is still active only in Colombia and the latest reports suggest that the new model could come back to North America as well. However, we haven’t heard anything from the officials yet.
New 2024 Chevy Captiva Redesign
Two scenarios for the New 2024 Chevy Captiva are possible. According to one of them, the company plans to bring back a familiar nameplate to the market but with a little bit different design characteristics. The new model would take the place between compact and mid-size segments. It would stand above the Equinox but below the very fresh Blazer.
On the other side, the other scenario suggests Chevy Captiva is available around the world, mainly in the developing market, as a cheaper alternative for the new Equinox. In this case, the new model would probably be heavily based on the Baojun 530, which in practice means older-generation engines, cheap interior, and other solutions that can cut the price.
Depending on the scenario, the New 2024 Chevy Captiva will come with a different interior design. If we are about to see a North American crossover, we can expect to see a quite big and well-equipped cabin, with lots of space and definitely with three rows of seating, at least as an option. On the other side, a potential version for developing markets would probably save most of the production costs in making a cheap interior. This would mean lower materials quality, as well as very limited access to the latest technologies. Also, count on a relatively tight cabin and limited cargo area.
New 2024 Chevy Captiva Engine
The Abroad version would probably come with older-generation engines. This New 2024 Chevy Captiva would mean units like a 135-hp 1.8-liter engine as a base engine. We can also count on a 1.5-liter engine that is good for about 150 horsepower. On the other side, the North American model would feature more powerful engines, most likely the same units as Equinox. This definitely includes a new 1.5-liter turbo inline-four which is good for 170 hp, as well as a bigger 2.0-liter turbo-four, which has a max output of 250 horsepower. Count on a familiar 1.6-liter diesel as well. This one is good for about 138 hp.
New 2024 Chevy Captiva Release Date And Price
Some reports suggest that the new 2024 Chevy Captiva model could arrive already in the next year. If it arrives in North America, it will probably cost around $25,000 in its base variant.
